Dungeons & Dragons Table

Dungeons & Dragons Table

What?

At some point I decided regular D&D just wasn’t immersive enough, so I built a custom table with a TV integrated into it for maps and visuals. The frame is mostly MDF, and the whole thing is comprised of 4 separate sections — which means it can be taken apart and moved. Technically, that makes it portable.

I shaped the table as a half-circle, so I could look every player in the eye when I killed their character, while also keeping the TV within equal reach of everyone. Each seat also has a recessed area where a player can put their laptop, while keeping the play space clear for dice, minis, and snacks.

As a bonus, since I was running Curse of Strahd, I also built a gothic-style window backdrop (also out of MDF).

Design Process

I first created a design for the table in 3DsMax.
